Elon Musk is set to depart the Trump administration and leave his role as a special government employee, a White House official told ABC News.
The White House will begin Musk's off-boarding Wednesday evening, the official said.
Musk was named as a Special Government Employee by Trump, and was hired for 130 days to provide expertise that the administration didn't have internally. His 130-day period is set to expire on Friday.
Musk shared the update on X Wednesday night, thanking President Donald Trump and saying his Department of Government Efficiency team will continue to work throughout the government.

Good, Tesla stock going up. Hopefully it hits that April 2029 projection of $2600 a share

They're going to need some good news for that to happen

You know how screwed we are when even this man can’t achieve anything in the DC cesspool.

I think it will take a good bump in June when they start the automated taxis in Dallas, the technology alone will bump it a bit

He learned politicians are entrenched in preserving their labyrinth of money laundering. The GOP house and senate is full of limp dicks uniparty bitches.
It is so frustrating from my point of view. I can only imagine what it does to someone like Musk who had a chance to lift the shroud and see filth of DC in its entirety.

Not to be an arse but I am genuinely curious… any of his contracts or gov programs his companies work with/for get reduced?

But I was told he was the real president.

What are you talking about?
Since day one he has been on a 130 day contract and after the Big Beautiful Bill passes then they are going to cut out all of the fraud (not waste because it’s all fraud) that he discovered with DOGE - what else did you expect him to do in his role? They cannot do the DOGE cuts in this big bill. Those cuts have to be separate.
Please explain to me like I am a 5 year old about what you are talking about

The cold hard truth cannot be denied any longer even by the staunchest deniers. It’s not getting fixed without a complete reset of the USA, and as bad as things are, they have to get a lot worse before that happens.

You realize he was only in DC because he gave Donald Trump 500 million dollars, right? He’s part of the problem

Here is a serious question - this bill is the budget required to be passed - meaning that anything left out is not in the years budget
So if they just did not put in funding for PBS it is not in the budget
What you are saying is that they are funding it and then removing it...
I bet there are lots if funded items and we are not hoping they remove them after just being passed.
Does that seem logical? No state budget works that way
