Actor/actress is the same thing. This list is based on opinion, please contribute your opinions. I'll just do a top 7 for myself

1: Daniel Day Lewis
2: Marlon Brando
3: Al Pacino
4: Leonardo DiCaprio
5: Christian Bale
6: Anthony Hopkins
7: Dustin Hoffman

I like Daniel Day-Lewis. But Gary Oldman should be on that list as well.

Movie-goers in the 1930s likely considered George Arliss was the greatest screen actor of all time. But his style didn't age well.

Critics were gaga over the method actors in the 1950s and 1960s, but I find that style often too weirdly self-conscious these days.

Will the more modern acclaimed actors stand the test of time? Who knows. Culture and society changes.

He doesn't get nearly enough credit for how good he is, and he gets a lot of credit for how good he is. That's how good he is.

GOAT

The biggest problem with your list is recency bias. Peter O'Toole, Jimmy Stewart, Paul Newman, Bette Davis and Peter Sellers need to be on this list.

1: Daniel Day Lewis
2: O'Toole
3: Sellers
4: Davis
5: Christian Bale
6: Anthony Hopkins
7: Gary Oldman
8: Brando
9: Stewart
10: Newman

Acting styles change over time, so it's hard to say GOAT. Paul Muni was considered the greatest actor of his day and had an unusual amount of control over his parts. His style is buffoonish by today's standards.

Paul Muni is the greatest actor of all time.

Just look at his list of movies and watch the top 10 and see why it was said "I would rather have 10 Betty Davis' than Paul Muni"

Muni was a stage actor and went talkies started Hollywood was looking for stage actor who could speak and act well.

Paul deep dived characters to the point he changed his look and voice.
