Visiting daughter(no pics) in Htown. Looking for laid back Mexican food. Thankful for any suggestions. Happy Memorial Day all.

More Kirby/Montrose area on Richmond, but I'm a big fan of Cadente.

Teotihuacan if sticking to the Heights
Cadente, Ninfas on Navigation, or El Tiempo if willing to drive 15
Best bang for your buck is to just crush quesabirria at Dona Lena or tacos at Tio Trompo

I tried it twice and had a similar experience. Surprised it’s still open.

Candente is great. Goode Co TexMex in the Heights (not in River Oaks). El Tiempo on Washington is a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde- we walk there and eat about 1/3wks but only because it’s convenient. I usually get the carnitas (order them extra crispy). Margaritas taste like soap since they “wash” all the glasses in the same soapy water in a sink. Beef is overpriced. Good vibes still though.

I think they have some great dishes and some misses. I don’t like their hot sauce though and that’s a big deal for me.

Same…we walk there out of convenience…they put a pork chop on the menu that I’ve gotten the last couple times we’ve gone, so good…I’ll never go back to ordering fajitas.

good co taqueria got rid of their pork chop too. Best thing on their menu.
