You have to have Anderson and Eyanson on schedule for Super.

So they are first two out of the gate.
Deal with it.
Deal with it.

Nope you do that in the regular season. It all changes when the Regionals start. You win and advance and do everything you can to advance so keeping starters on their same schedule is thrown out the window.
I don't think the regional is that tough so you should be able to keep them on a normal schedule but its not required to keep them on the same schedule. And does it really matter if they are on 7 days rest or 6 days rest? Let me answer that for you. Nope it doesn't matter

We’re the only team that might actually do that. Little Rock and that Tulane team might be the worst two teams that have made it in recent years.

Idk why people will even be mad. It gives the best possible chance to start 2-0 and Noot is more than good enough to pitch and win game 3 of a regional

I'll make sure to tell Jay when I speak to him.

This isn’t 12u travel ball. Jay is not gonna blow a guys arm up in the tournament pitching him on short rest, he would be crucified by the media.
If Guys pitch Saturday and Sunday in the regional (even worse if there is a rain delay and it stretches to Monday) then they are not available until the following Saturday or Sunday for the Supers.
That means you risk throwing your number three guy which has not been good for LSU all year, to start the Supers and going down one game and one of your best two pitchers may never have a chance to pitch if you lose two in a row.

If Anderson pitches Saturday then he can come back Friday on 6 days rest. This is not rocket science.

If you think 1 day extra rest is bad you are crazy.
What happens when we play a Thursday series in the regular season ? Do we sit Anderson and Eyanson till Friday/ Saturday??????
Hell we pitched eyanson on Friday this week, crazy you adjust.
You do not wast the are talent when its not needed.
Little rock has no business being in the tournament they have a losing record and snuck in as an 8 seed in their own conference. Noot and shores should be able to shut them down and save Anderson and Eyanson for game 2and 3 to close out the regional.
shite some supers start on Saturday and not Friday what would you do just start Eyanson and Anderson gets held to Omaha if we make it, I mean he has to stay on schedule?????
That is the most asinine thing I've read on here.

Bingo someone else gets it also.

I am not passionate about this either way, so I continue to be swayed either way.
I think I lean to agree with you. I would like to see Noot get this game one win, but I won't be upset if they go with someone else.

One of Kade’s worst outings of the season was on 6 days rest.
Also, you turned around after your speech and admitted that this isn’t a ferocious regional. If it isn’t, then you at least try to keep your guys on schedule and limit their pitch counts if you build leads. Then they could be used again if we need to close out a tight one or drop a game.
My point is that a Top 8 seed should have an eye on the Supers when game planning pitching.

So keep them on schedule but also use them twice in a weekend if needed?

No, you focus on winning your regional

IF we make the Super, our bracket dictates we will start on SATURDAY not FRIDAY. That means Anderson on Sat and Eyanson on Sunday.
JMO, I would start Shores-Noot or whoever on Friday of this week to place Anderson/Eyanson starting on Sat-Sun as they will in a potential Super.

This could be argued, but sometimes I feel like the regional can be more challenging to win or navigate than the Super. Certainly depends upon the draw. I would really like to see LSU win game one without their top two arms, but at the same time I get all sides. I don't think they will risk it.
Posted on 5/26/25 at 3:02 pm to beauchristopher
I can see that, have to win 3 games instead of potentially just 2.
My preference would be to pitch off game 1 for that exact reason, but I don’t think Jay will do that. Miiiiight see Eyanson game 1, but I don’t consider that pitching off

Nobody is crucifying Jay for throwing a guy on Saturday and the following Friday. Do you think he got crucified the 3-4 times this year we already pitched Anderson/Eyanson one day “early”? Because we did exactly that every time* we had a Friday-Sunday series followed by a Thursday-Saturday series.

*The one exception was South Carolina, when we pitched backwards presumably trying to steal a sweep.

0% chance this happens in a super, regardless of whether we pitch backwards in the regional.
I mean yeah, history tells us that Jay will probably pitch Anderson on Friday. But this idea that you don’t have Anderson available for game 1 of a super if he pitches on Saturday is laughably stupid.

We don't need either for game #1. One day pushed off schedule is not a big deal. We'll need Anderson and Eyanson for likely games vs DBU in games 2 and 3.
