If these guys can continue to pitch this way, this presents a huge advantage for LSU late in games. This will give them more flexibility when using Evans and Cowan.

I'm still not sure who is going to get LHs out late in games, but having these 3 guys step up could prove to be huge.

I have no stats to back this up but felt like Williams was coming on too. Aside for some random HRs he has given up I thought I remembered his last few outings being decent.

ETA: I glossed over the last 7 appearances part so that changes my perception on Williams.

Mayers is at 61% strike rate over these outings, which is a big number for him.

Completely agree.

Yeah and you know he is someone that has the potential to give you multiple innings.

Cowan’s change up if Jay isn’t comfortable with any of the LHPs?

I think we have 9 reliable arms at the moment.

Anderson
Eyanson
Evans
Cowan
Shores
Noot
Myers
Williams
Rizy

This is the deepest pitching staff in recent memory IMO.

We don’t even need a good offense. Just an offense with a pulse.

For sure, but I’m talking more in a specialist role. Like coming in and just getting one guy out.

Off topic but I wouldn’t hate if they adopted the three batter rule in college. I find MLB games much more enjoyable to watch with the pace of play

I like what he’s done each time they’ve called his number recently. I would imagine he’s on the “trust” list for the regional.

I suppose, but I don’t know that they will use him for that. As shown by the above stats. 6.1 IP in his last 7 appearances. He’s only gone more than 1 inning twice this entire year.

On Mayers:

Well, he has 222 career K's in 151IP. That just comes with 146BB's lol. He was never going to be a factor here.

Lol dumbass

Pitching isn’t why we lost Saturday. Those guys showed they can win on Friday if Jay goes a different route.

Noot would absolutely dominate most 4-seeds. Wish Jay would consider this.

I will eat shite on Mayers if this is real. Even if it’s just a few useable innings

Unfortunately we were "pulseless" against Ole Miss. One of the big problems w/ our offense is inconsistency.
