What skill / technology could you provide to past people that changes their existence?

You travel back in time with only the clothes on your back. You are teaching the people something that you know about.
Parameters:
1 - You can select the people but they must be pre-20th Century
2 - Whoever you visit already has the wheel or you cannot teach the wheel (just so every answer isn’t ‘the wheel’)
3 - Whoever you visit already has fire or you cannot teach fire (just so every answer isn’t ‘fire’)

I'd probably have to teach them my language or learn theirs, and chances are they'd execute me for witchcraft or something stupid before I can get any meaningful progress in that. This is assuming I don't land in one of the rare periods of human searching of enlightenment.

I think about this a lot and I think I'd have to invent the wheel.
I could tell people about washing with clean towels, drinking water etc.
I have no idea how to create electricity, how a gun works, build an engine etc. so in general I'm heading very far back
