Going in Friday and our son doesn’t report until Sunday at 1. Ideally we could focus on things around campus, but we know zero about that city. Guess we’ll ride around and try to discover places around his apartment.

I know there's a bunch of natural springs around that area like this one at Ichetucknee Springs. I'm sure the UF alum will have some better suggestions for around campus

We’ve been to some springs north of Orlando and they are truely remarkable. Rented a paddleboard and it was so chill. Otters in the water was the coolest part.

Margaritaville water park at Lake Lanier but the water will still be a little chilly until mid-June.

As gross as that sounds, it still manages to sound vastly better than visiting Gainesville, Florida.

Drive down to Disney Springs or go swing at the Villages.

Nothing.
Your son should have thought of that before he picked that school.

Jorts R Us is a good place to people watch. Not touristy at all. It right next door to the mullet museum.

It was funny to see the jorts come out for gameday last year. The normal student body doesn’t seem to take on that moniker…but o lawd some the fans do.

Cedar Key is less than an hour away. You can drive to St. Augustine too

We’re staying in Cedar Key for a couple of days after dropping him off. Excited to see the place. We’re hoping to maybe make that the place we stay for home games.

Heard good things about Alachua as well, may go check that out.

This area is one of the hidden gems of Florida. All these dumbass posters talking about central Florida really don’t know shite.
