Anyone planning on doing Murph tomorrow on Memorial Day? Me and a buddy from the gym are gonna do it. Last time I did it was 3 or 4 years ago and I’m much stronger now so should be “easier” whatever that means. Haha it’s a tough workout but looking forward to it. Last time broke it up to 20 sets mainly due to the pull-ups. We shall see. I’ll report back when done tomorrow

This is the first year I won’t be able to do it in years. Doing a half Ironman in 2 weeks so I can’t really afford to give up a day of training and be messed up this close to the race.

Great mental workout though. You can always do one more push up or one more air squat or put on foot in front of the other on that second run, just have to let your mind let your body do it

Did it with gym friends yesterday. It is a great workout for an even better cause.

I am thinking about making it a once monthly routine. I didn’t wear a weighted vest but want to work toward that for next year.
Finished sub 45 (44.50) Average Hrt rate 139. Burn 496 calories..

Im training for a half IM. Is this not a good workout for endurance?

By the way I add a mile each run. Total 4 miles.

Just finished with a time of 41:20 not weighted, but it was also my first time. The cause makes you want to strive harder and push further to accomplish the feat.

First timer here too and came in at 46 minutes unweighted. Had to change a diaper in the middle of it too but I made a point to not rest during partitions and embrace the suck.

I did the same 20 set pattern but on my second to last decided to push and did 10 pull-up, 20 push and 30 squats so I could be done and go run that last mile. HR was high, shirt was drenched. Felt great all day after

My gym did it Saturday and this was my 2nd Murph (did my first last year a month after starting Crossfit).

I'm 46 at about 168 lbs (5'5")

Did both mile runs with 20 lb vest on. Did the Cindy variation, 10 rds with vest and 8 rds without vest. Finished the last mile just under our 60 min cap.

Last year I did both mile runs with 14 lb vest on, Cindy, 10 rds with vest and 4 rds without. About the same time right under the 60 min cap.

Definitely liked the improvement, but hoping to finish it in under 60 mins next year. The only issue is that I keep getting older, so fighting father time.

I'm doing it today.

ETA:

No weight vest, ran on the treadmill. 46 minutes. The running was the toughest part, I haven't been running for the past few months due to my knees.

Did it yesterday with my F3 group. 42min. wasn't sure I would be able to complete it within the 45 max coming off recent back surgery but glad I went out there. did the 20 set version unweighted.
