I find it very odd since we put humans there 56 years ago not a single other country has ever attempted to land one of their astronauts there.

Why is America the only country to do this?

Because it was fake.

I think we’ve been at some point, but what you see was obviously filmed in a studio.

It was completely staged. We had to win the space race against Russia.

The last moon landing was 53 years ago. The first fake mission was such a success they decided to fake it six more times. They also threw in a faked failed mission just for shits & giggles.

Your question should really be if it's so easy to do, how come we haven't run several faked missions to Mars.

There's nothing there, it's really expensive to do it, and failing would be embarrassing.

Maybe because it’s a fairly pointless endeavor. What would be the point of doing it again except to do it? There is an International Space Station that cooperating countries use to conduct their space experiments. Do you doubt that it exists? We can keep astronauts there for months at a time as opposed to days It is much safer and cheaper to use the ISS than to go to the moon.

This sums it up very well. For a long time the USSR was the only country that had the resources to make a legitimate attempt but the cost benefit analysis very much pointed to not trying. There was nothing exciting to bring back, the costs were huge (better spent on the military in their eyes) and the cost of failure would have been like the Norks rolling over a new warship x1000. Not much glory in being second and failure would be untenable.

Money is the reason. Money had to be found for all of LBJ's "Great Society" payola.

BTW, Russia was never able to make a computer chip.

To be fair, IIRC, we have another mission planned for 2027. As for the question on why we haven't faked a Mars trip (not that I agree the landing on the moon was fake) is because it's a multiple year trip for one and two, with modern technology, we would expect many hours of video documentation. That would be a major pain to fake.

Edit: Also, were not being motivated by the USSR

Because, the Apollo program, including the missions to land on the moon, cost the United States a total of $25.8 billion between 1960 and 1973

These idiots have no idea the Soviets landed on the moon also.
The photographic evidence looked exactly the same. The makeup of the lunar samples was exactly the same.

“Luna 17? What’s that?”

Jerome Powell won't reduce interest rates. Too expensive to build there.

They could film what they needed to film while the actors lived where all the 9/11 passengers are living. Easy peasy, "look all you smooth brain moon landing deniers, we went to Mars".

Elon already sent the manned Tesla rover to Mars a few years ago on a reconnaissance mission. Let's get this party started..
