I mean, he probably did already, but… I had a lot of confusion initially seeing Eyanson in relief. And, I feel like I’m stooping to A&M’s level treating a game that doesn’t end with a trophy like it’s a national championship.

But, using our two best pitchers to call it a season for those bubble blowing losers puts a smile on my face that will be there all the way to the regional, no matter what happens tomorrow or Sunday. Geaux Tigers!

He wants to make sure they both get work and in process win's one game to lock up any doubts. If we lost with relief and Eyanson doesn't get to pitch, the break will be too long for him.

SECT doesn't really matter

You pitch Eyanson here to make sure he gets work. Winning was also nice.

It all makes sense now. But, it’s more fun to think Jay hates A&M and wanted to send them home to their yell leaders.

Jay said he made that decision last weekend but it’s fun to watch Aggies celebrate their “win” by forcing LSU’s starters to pitch against them

Where are they doing that? I’d have to think they’re more sad about their baseball season being over so soon.

That decision was for us, not to end the faggies season.

he wants both of our aces to have the same amount of rest in case he wants to pitch eyanson Friday instead of anderson, based on opponents lineup and who is a better matchup.

he said it after the game. he also wanted to make sure they both got work

Dude has won 40+ every season he's been here, won a natty, and grinds the recruiting trail as hard or harder than any coach we've ever had at any sport.

But yeah, he made sure to get both starters in the game and on schedule for next week and won a quarterfinal game. Thats when he wins you over.

Yeah pretty smart.

It depends on the 4 seed but maybe Eyanson starts the tournament off then Anderson goes against the 2 seed in second game.

You get guys elimination game experience for postseason and next season. He’s going to need someone to step up when the two aces move on.

Listening to Jay’s press conference after the game it makes a lot of sense why he made the decision. He’s a great coach and 95% of the time any decisions he makes aren’t going to be hard to defend, especially when you hear his logic behind it with the baseball mind he has.

and to Jay’s point in the PC last night I just linked, we are not winning a title without other pitchers stepping up in postseason (like we saw in 2023) so he is giving pressure situations in elimination games to the other guys this weekend outside of our 2 best arms. Love that approach. I want to see these other guys, like freshman in Evans and Schmidt, have this experience before getting thrown out there in Omaha
