Visiting for the first time in a while. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Best place for gumbo? No tomatoes of course. Thank you.

I still love Mr. B’s for gumbo and vibes. Other people know better places I’m sure, but I promise you won’t go wrong at Mr. B’s.

Lots of places do a decent gumbo.

I’ve never had gumbo at Mr B’s, but their crispy fried oysters app & BBQ shrimp are outstanding…

I think Patois has the best gumbo. It's thick, rich, and hearty.

I don’t eat restaurant gumbo at all, but this sounds like a terrible appetizer. Like eating beef stew for an app.
