He isn’t taking that home, he still has to pay his agent and fees to the NFLPA.

It’s a hell of a lot more complicated than that, but yes, he pays a shite ton of taxes

This is why the dodgers have all these delayed contracts for their players.

Cali will get another $5m on top of that for all their other high taxes of just living there

California is a beautiful state to visit and see, but an unimaginably horrible place to live unfortunately.

Purdy just doesn't give me the vibes of a max-contract quarterback. Still, it's pretty good money for Mr. Irrelevant.

More than half his pay to the government. Then everything he buys will be sales taxed and his property that he owns will hit him for $100,000+ in “property taxes” per year.

Taxation truly is theft.

Are we supposed to feel sorry for him or something?

Won't stop progressives from whining that people like him are not paying their "fair share" (which they will never define, because the answer will always be "more").

When the Jews were enslaved in Egypt by the pharaoh apparently they owed 30% of their labor to him.

So we are now well above what slaves owed in ancient times.

It's why I'd rather play in Vegas, Texas, Florida, Washington ot Tennessee. Screw NY, DC, Louisiana, and Massachusetts

I worked in Alabama from 2017 to 2020, but I'm a Florida resident.

I didn't pay state taxes.

You should have and if Alabama finds out they’ll bang you for the taxes and penalties and interest

Feel a lot less sympathy for him than I would for a working stiff just trying to support their family. Purdy is accumulating generational wealth regardless. Yeah it sucks big he also chose to sign that contract and play in that state. He could have gone the FA route and left

And it is up to you to figure out how much you owe, but the government actually already knows the real answer so if you get it wrong, they throw you in jail and destroy your life

frick the government
