You know what grinds my gears? Facebook moms "fundraising" for their kids activities

Is anyone else seeing this more and more?
"Hey friends Bryxlyeigh is starting her next season of competitive cheer and were having a calendar fundraiser to cover fees and her new uniform. Pick a day and donate that amount. For example June 15th would be $15!"
Or theres the sponsorship opportunity posts where you can sponsor a sleeve for $15, a skirt for $30.
You're not running a fundraiser. Your kid isn't offering something to raise money. Youre just soliciting your friends all but saying "we dont want to pay for this shite. Give us money."
Am I the a-hole? I find it so off putting and tacky. You wouldn't walk up to your acquaintances in real life and say hey wanna give me 20 bucks for my kids cheer uniform?
And thats what really grinds my gears.

Someone has to pay for all their travel costs
That and the football boards
No one wants to pay for your free vacation
If you can't afford it, don't sign your kid up

We worked concessions as a team to cover our uniforms and expenses.

The $5 Free Dress days and the tiny fees for every activity that once was free. Someone at these schools is making good side money on all of these special events.

Isn’t that what onlyfans is for?

You should use this as an opportunity to grow into a fully realized adult and stop spending so much time on Facebook.

Back in my day you at least had to sell chocolate bars to raise the money. Now they just put a calendar up and people donate with nothing in return. Drives me crazy as well and I've got a 5 and 8 y/o.
My wife did the calendar thing for my daughters cheer and blocked me from seeing the post. When I found out, I went crazy.

I think it’s pretty tacky, but I dont allow it to grind my gears. I just scroll on by while silently judging.

I just pay for my kids out my pocket, their teamates too.. Not making Joey sell candy bars or sell slots on a calendar.
I feel for poor people, no kid on my child's team will want for anything.
Stop begging on FB mekayla, tell ya pipe fitting baby dad to cough up some money

I'm all about buying cookies or getting into a raffle for gun. If it goes towards raising money for a team or organization for kids, that's bonus. If it's just for one kid's personal expenses, I'm out.

It's the lazy version of going to beg for money at an intersection. At least do a car wash or something productive.

Why do you have facebook?

My kids are past asking for cash activities now. When I first heard of it, I was taken aback. But, I prefer it now. I don't want the trinket they are selling. I either want to support the kid's activities or I don't.
If I give cash, 100% goes to the activity. If I buy the trinket, the kid is only getting 30% for the activity. At best, 50%. I still get the trinket that I don't want.
Many times an org will use a third party company to run a cash fundraiser. The third party will take a 30% cut of the action. I will bypass and donate directly to the org or kid's parents.

This shite drives me up a wall.
Why do parents sign their kid up for sports they can’t afford to play?
Play local rec ball if you can’t afford to travel to one of the 50 little leagues World Series championships.
