Looking for recommendations of a good place to take the wife next week. For nice/fancy restaurants in Houston, we've been to the following inside the loop:

Rainbow Lodge
Capital Grille
Del Frisco's
State of Grace (though never for dinner)
Brenner's

Outside the loop we've done quite a bit with our favorites being:

DaVinci's
Pearl & Vine
Fernando's

Any recommendations of something new for us to try would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance to all you fine ladies and gentlemen.

We ate there for lunch one day and really enjoyed the food. If I remember correctly, we just split two or three apps, and it was all very good, especially the shrimp & crab brandani.

Wife and I are headed here for anniversary dinner Sunday excited to try it

Depends on what the OP is looking for. Milton's or a Eunice could be a good spot.

Slightly more casual but a crowd pleaser, Hudson House just opened in Rice Village. Could get some cold martinis and food there, head to Sixty Vines for some vino night cap etc.

Zanti and Marmo are both fantastic date night spots. Great food, excellent service, romantic vibe.

I’d add Bludorn or Navy Blue to the mix. And Josephine’s is great for a casual lunch/dinner.

We were at Baso last night. Their ‘Trust the Chef’ menu is hard to beat. It gets a little loud in the tiny dining room but the food and kitchen are the real show. The Wine Room table for two at Turner’s Cut is a more intimate atmosphere with really good food.

My wife and I like Josephine’s a lot…the cold seafood platter is a good homage to the one at Peche…and at a great price for something like that in Houston…55 dollhairs…anywhere else that would run you 85-95 dollars for something comparable.

Venue looks really nice.
Menu looks...interesting.

Guess I haven't really been to real spanish food theme restaurants like like that one. Definitely want to try it one day.

Josephine's is legit. Chef is a good guy in my few interactions with him thru a friend.

Just looked at their menu and photos. Looks delicious. Adding to our "must eat at" list, just for the smoked redfish dip alone.
