Good luck with that story. I beat the game + DLC and barely have a clue what was going on. I do know there was too much nonsense to condense to a movie though. Could be an Oscar contender for Best Score if it’s even half as good as the game.

The story in the the actual game is vague, strange, and at times incomprehensible.
Probably impossible to translate to a 3 hr movie.
I get the feeling we will end up with a generic fantasy world movie with a few elements from the game, maybe a big golden Erdtree and a few familiar character names.

This will be a good opportunity for Garland to make a blockbuster hit while still making a passion project. He loves Last of us as well, but he’ll never get that opportunity. I wish he did because that would have been great. But yeah, he’s a big gamer.
