My daughter is finishing up a class in Milan, I’m flying out to meet her. Any recommendations as to where to meet her, sights to visit , lodging, etc?
She has been to Rome, Florence and Venice thus far.
Thanks in advance

Pretty easy to just do the Lake Region if you're in Milan.

Alba. Great small city with amazing food and wine. Home of the white truffle.

Varenna...Lake Como. Easy access by train from Milan.

If she's been there for a semester, does she have any suggestions?

Lake Region.
The closest to Milan is Lake Maggiore. You can go to Stressa and tour the Barromeo Palace which is on an island just offshore.
Lake Como is at the other end of the Lake Region. Beautiful place.
In between is Lake Lugano. I have been to the area twice and we based in Lugano,Switzerland which is right across the lake from the Italian border.
Beautiful area. This would be my first choice.

I send the Lake Como and/or nearby lake reccs. By the way, if she hasn’t been to a performance at La Scala while in Milan, she should go before leaving.

I would agree with Lake Como. We just returned from there. It’s a 50 minute train ride from Milan to Varenna and you can take the ferry all over the lake to the other villages. Visteria is a great restaurant in the Hotel Royal Victoria.
