Is he the one that went to St Aug and knew Tre Morgan and his dad?

Yep. Pretty sure that he flies in for every Saints home game.

He will be missed. Great at his job

As if I needed anymore reminders how time flies, Scott Van Pelt and Stan Verrett are both almost 60.

I liked the Stan Verrett and Neil Everett Sportscenter late nights.

Stan is not leaving by choice. The Mickey Mouse network wouldn't renew his contract. Sadly, ESPN did the same thing to Neil Everett back in 2023. Once that happened, it was obvious that ESPN would eventually phase Stan out of his job.
ESPN has been a joke for the last 5-8 yrs. Their current sportscasters & anchors are often times unbearable to watch and listen to.

ESPN only values "personalities" these days. Solid dudes like Verrett and Everett who do their jobs well don't "move the needle" for ESPN brass.

I know this is an often used joke on this site, but I've thought for a while that he posts here.

He did, something like espnsaint.

Stan and Neil were fixtures of my childhood. Genuinely sucks, them and Van Pelt were a few of the last good things about ESPN.

Dan Patrick & Keith Olbermann's original run as SC anchors (before Olbermann went nuts) was my childhood but I also enjoyed Everett & Verrett... very professional

ESPN keeping Kendrick Perkins

This seemed inevitable after Neil was gone and they shut down the LA Sportscenter. Doubt anyone that lives in LA is pumped to go back to Bristol.

They did not renew the contract of the one black person who does not speak in street lingo, acts ghetto, does not race bait, no controversies, does not post tik tok twerking videos and simply reports the sporting news.
Not shocked!

Sad to see them lose one of the few talking heads that doesn’t suck.
