Veterans Claiming 100% Disability

I know of 3 people receiving 100% veteran disability checks ($4,200 a month) plus lots of additional goodies, who are perfectly functioning - one operating his own home contractor business. It seems if you are 100% disabled you would be incapacitated. I think some of our veterans are scamming the system IMO.
Thank you for your service

The highest value you can be assigned is a 100% VA disability rating, which means you qualify as completely disabled. Disability ratings are assigned based on medical records provided by your doctor, the results of a VA claim physical examination, and any other relevant information.
Thank you for your service

You’d think these people would have some integrity. Just shows you most people are leaches, no matter who they are, what they look like, or where they come from. Pathetic

yet my dad who served in vietnam as a helicopter gunner and has ischemic heart disease possibly due to agent orange cant seem to get disability.
I know what you mean. I know a guy getting disability from time served in Iraq I believe and is a diesel mechanic.

Are these guys climbing ladders and nailing shingles on a roof? If so report them.
If they are sitting in their truck all day and not doing manual labor, meh.

My fiance's dad had 100% disability until this year for exposure to Agent Orange after he developed cancer from the exposure.
It was reduced to 40% without much explanation.

It's hard to be the guy not getting paid when everyone else around you is.

You don't know what's going on between the ears. Maybe they have PTSD. Maybe they have TBI. Maybe they have severe back pain. Just because you don't have a prosthetic doesn't mean they don't have issues.

Of course they are, by the tens of thousands. I know a guy that flew f-16s that’s 100% disabled, retired as a lt colonel. Makes at least 12k tax free on that and flies for FedEx making around 250-400k from that as well. Runs 3-5 miles a day. Has disabled vet plates on his car.
Another guy I know was an f-22 pilot, 100% disabled. Flies for Delta and works for Grumman. Who knows how much he makes.
Saw a guy walk to it the Y last week. Tatted up, young guy in great shape. New lifted jeep with disabled vet plates. Parked in the handicapped spot closest to the door and had a service dog.
The other stuff is kind of whatever to me, but parking in handicapped spots when other mobility-limited people need them was an a-hole move.

I know one in that exact situation who claims that his kids can go to college for free as a benefit of of his 100% disability.

I don't know a single guy who has left the military that does not have some percentage of a disability. One guy I know has sleep apnea figured into his percentage.
