I like everyone on your list except Max Unger at center. I’d put LeCharles Bentley or John Hill there instead

Your lineup is very nostalgic. As I read the names, some the great moments flashed in my mind. Thanks. I feel both joy and sadness at the same time.

I thought hard about LeCharles, just thought the success we had with Unger puts him over the top.

A little tough to compare though.

Yeah it’s also wild to think about the aging greats still on our roster.

I hope Cam, Alvin and especially DeMario have a couple strong games this year so we can share our appreciation.

Only the Great Dane and the three LBs from the first half of the team’s existence.

As someone who started watching them in 1970, I can’t argue the point; it’s an illustration and an indication (and an indictment) of how bad the Mecom ownership was.

Mora was the second-best Coach and Finks is in the running as being the best GM.

LB and OL are tough to shake out some great names.

The game is so different now than it was 30 years ago making it hard to just compare stats. Pro Bowl and All Pro years are telling how these players were compared to the field.

It's probably considered blasphemy on this board, but I would take Dave Waymer over Knight.

Colston yes. Horn no. No matter how much you dislike him, You have to put Michael Thomas there.

DE Cam Jordan
DT LaRoi Glover
DE Will Smith

If you’re going 3-4, you have to go Wayne Martin at NT. Glover wasn’t here as long and isn’t a NT.

I wouldn’t sleep on Dave Wagner or Tom Myers, but I don’t have an issue with these guys.

Rookie Contract Michael Thomas is WR 1. Paid Michael Thomas is the reason why we all left him off.

Agreed

Beer Man was Canton-bound as a KR over a six or eight game stretch.

Archie was the NFC Offensive Player of the Year in 1979.

We were (and now are again) absolutely abysmal.

The year after he got his contract he set the NFL record for receptions in a season.

Yeah, but then he turned into the reason many hate the NFL. You are correct though, his play warrants a spot on this list. I just chose Joe Horn over him because I loved watching him even when we weren’t any good.

I have a soft spot for Pierre Thomas as a screen pass specialist RB.
