More and more "normal" people are starting to live in their car...

I personally know someone doing this...the guy I know lives in a 2020 Ford Explorer. He works a full time job and actually makes decent money.
For him it all started when he had to work out of town for a few months. He couldn't afford a hotel, so he started sleeping in his car. He has a gym membership at Planet Fitness so he would go by there every morning for a workout and shower. It worked out so well that when he came back home he didn't renew the lease on his apartment. He has a storge unit for his "stuff", still has a Planet Fitness membership, and that is now his life. Wal-Mart, Planet Fitness, and a few other business allow you to "camp" in their parking lot. He also does a great deal of stealth camping, and says he has more money in his pocket than he's ever had. It seems to work for him but damn, can you imagine??

When I say "decent" money, that is relatively speaking....he could afford a place to live. He chooses not to. And I agree with another poster, that is not normal.

The happy medium to this is living with your parents and banking all the money that would be spent on rent, utilities and groceries. It also incentivizes you to work OT or a side gig.
