Why are Dems against Medicaid work requirements?

Won’t this set up a big federal bureaucracy, what dem would hate that, to enforce, which will probably cost more than any savings from changing the current system

A large percentage of Medicaid recipients are children of lower income types on the state CHIP programs whose parents have employer paid insurance but adding the kids makes the contributions very expensive because the employer is not kicking in for the dependents.

Workfare worked well. People who were drawing welfare and working under the table couldn't do both.
