Man how much more physical the nba used to be. I’m glad to see a bit of a shift back to that from 3pt/analytical ball. Makes for more entertaining product in my opinion.

They will make a new 30/30 after this series is over, the refs are going to rig it big time for the Knicks

Meh 3 pointers will always rule the regular season… it’s hard to hold up for 82 games going balls to the wall like you would to win in the playoffs…

This is the order for refs:

The remaining teams in the league based on market size:

1. New York Knicks
13. Minnesota
22. Indiana
26. OKC

There are 28 markets in the league. The only two markets smaller than OKC are Memphis and New Orleans.

I agree but in OKC vs Denver the posters here were butt hurt by OKC being physical and whined about refs the whole series. Never seen so much crying over refs ever. So its going to take time to change mentalities in todays soft world.

I miss the old school basketball. Bad Boys of Detroit. Jordan rules (mad respect to MJ for fighting through them), and many others.

And playoff basketball in MSG is a completely different animal. I am not a fan of the knicks, but I have secretly pulled for them since last year. I like this squad they have put together. And MSG has been lit af during these playoffs.

The 80's were a combination of both. A more open game than the '90s with hard fouls but without the constant grabbing/holding. I dont know how you correct it, but the analytics of the 3 point shot have sired a generation of one dimensional players who are unbelievably good long range shooters. In todays game, Toni Kukoc would be a hall of fame level player, yet he never made an all-star team

He was 6'11' and could shoot, pass and handle the ball as well as any big man of his era.

But he was softer than baby shite in a league with very few Europeans where the wide open Euro game didn't transfer well. He was shite on defense in a defense centric league. He was under a microscope due to the dream team Olympics and thrust onto a veteran team that didn't want him and just lost the best player in the history of the game. He grew up playing with a shorter 3 pt line and was despised by team leader Pippen, and bullied by Jordan upon his return.

None of those faults/hurdles exist in todays game and his positive's are even more valued.

Blaming the refs for your team’s failures is a loser mentality.

Mason and Oakley were some scary dudes!

Pacers vs Knicks produced some great games in the 90's.

Game 3 of the 99 ECF when LJ hit the 4 point play in The Garden was incredible.
