Last night was a gut punch to the pitching staff.

Burned arguably 3 of your more go to arms in Noot, Shores, and Cowan.

Hopefully Anderson and Eyanson can eat innings like they’ve done all year.

Bats need to come around and provide run support.

Yep - that was totally unexplainable - a mistake that doesn't make sense at all.

Noot and Shores would typically be guys that throw on the days Anderson and Eyanson don't start.
that's just game 1 this week instead of game 3.

It was a frustrating evening. Too many walks and baserunning errors. That said, we are poised to win the next two games with our pitching. We just need the offense to put up 5-6 runs.

Third baseman looked like he kinda got in his way right before he was going to start his slide. I bet he threw off his timing so Curiel abandoned the slide attempt

That’s my interpretation of it. I know Curiel knows to get down there

It was always a bad idea to go bullpen game one. I understand wanting to get the starters on full rest, but now you're in danger of missing a top 4 spot in the SEC tourney and having them go early anyway, AND you put yourself in a tough spot for a top 8. To the second worst team in the SEC, by a LOT.

*sigh* it can never be easy.

I'm assuming 3rd base coach wasn't telling him to get down.

If we can't beat SC with our top 2 guys, when we have a lot to play for, then we aren't going to do much damage in the tourney anyway. No excuses, take 2/3 and lock into a top 8 seed and top 4 SEC.

Do you guys watch the games? We basically pitched our Sunday staff outside of Cowan. We have two of the best aces in the country left. All is very well as far as pitching goes.

We’ve still got Rizy, Williams, Mayers and Primeaux to finish up tonight’s game and Saturday you can probably go Eyanson and Evans to close it out.

On the flip side, if we do win the next two with our aces, and Tennessee can take the series from Arky, we're still in good shape. Could even still wind up 2nd in the conference.

I think last night was a real example of not taking a team seriously. To many errors. Ware looked like he was pitching in his first collegiate game, Cowan got rocked, etc.

We're gonna take the next two.

Kind of how I saw it too. But when I was playing high school ball in the late 80’s we were told that’s why we wear metal spikes. And that’s why we go in feet first. He’ll move.

But agreed, I think it threw curiel off a bit.

Not sure why the idiots on this board downvoted this. It is the absolute truth.

I was thinking the same thing when Braswell slid around him. Was always taught if a fielder is standing in front of a base without the ball, slide right through him to the base (not with cleats up, obviously). You’ll either force him to move, get hit with the ball and maybe take another bag, or he’ll get lucky and make the play.

I guarantee you if Braswell would have slid through the 3rd baseman into third, he would have been safe. 3B would also have learned his lesson and he wouldn’t have been standing in front of the bag for Curiel’s slide. Frustrating for sure.

Noot is burnt

Ware sux

Cowan has been figured out

it looked more like Curiel thought the throw was going Home instead of to 3rd.

Last night was always a bonus if we won. Tonight and tomorrow should be cake walks with the best 1-2 punch in the country toeing the rubber.

Aint even worried
