Currently in last place in the conference. They have been bottom dwellers for years. I understand no one in that area really cares about the baseball program, however, why do they keep Federico on the job year after year when he does nothing but lose?

He’s done after this year. Will be working with Ole Miss in some capacity to be able to watch his son play.

There are outstanding high school baseball programs in this area.

He's cheap. Ski boats are expensive.

Federico isn't the problem at ULM.

I agree -- he's at a school that wants to be a big-boy school, but they can't compete facilities/budget and UIL-wise. He simply doesn't have the firepower to sustain any kind of success. 15 years ago, ULM and Texas State were basically identical institutions, both Academically and Athletically.

Texas State has increase that gap tremendously in both regards.

I’ve said something for years as someone who graduated from ULM & supports the teams. This is for all sports. We can change the uniforms, helmets, coaches, players, waterboys, mascot & even name of the university. End of the day, we just suck. Can’t sustain success. One good season every 10. Out of the 5 main sports:football, baseball, men’s bb, women’s bb & softball if you want to count that, we will have 1 winning season out of those 5 every other year. I can’t blame the fans for not wanting to be there to be reminded we are bottom dwellers. Jury is still out on Vincent the football coach but he seems passionate. Federico ain’t the answer. And I’m glad Keith Richard retired.

I’ve watched them play a few times this year. They are not bad at all, just don’t have pitching.

Baseball is already the most difficult sport, when your pitchers are weak it’s difficult to win.

I can’t tell if you’re serious, or just picked a random SBC program to compare them to.

They just don't have the money to compete. Their athletic budget is lower than some Southland Conference schools.

You have to funnel resources where they can compete. While they avoided the embarrassment of losing their coach to recent FCS call up Jacksonville State, what is the actual ceiling for ULM football? They really stretched their budget to keep Vincent.

I wonder if you are a G5 program in the south, is it better to get to 6-7 wins and a bowl game in football or dump money into your baseball program where you have the ability to host a regional?

I'd really like to point and laugh, but the Cajuns lost to this team. Lost. To this team. Deggs needs to stop trying to be Tony 2.0.

The Cajuns just don’t have “IT” this year. They are missing the guy who you can count on every time. Last year they had 3.
