I will note the few good things from the trailer first:

1. An "Iron Man" suit that isn't nanotech. I preferred the feel that the old school suits had, but understand WHY they did the nanotech suit.
2. Parker Robbins (aka The Hood) is a potentially good villain. He is one of the more unique villains in the Marvel comics.
3. The Dean from Community is apparently a staff member at MIT; the actor is hilarious and perhaps he can retain his comedic genius here.

That's... about it.

Issues:
1. Riri isn't showcased in a way that makes her any more likeable than she was depicted in Black Panther.

2. Highly unbelievable that anyone capable of building a fully functional Iron Man suit would be disregarded - Iron Man 2 made it ABUNDANTLY clear how hard it was to actually build one. We (the audience) are supposed to believe that the government when from trying to claim Tony's suit to not giving a flip when a college student builds one?

3. Worried they will waste The Hood on this show that has had practically no publicity (side note: His costume looks good in the comics, but not sure I think it carries over to live action)

4. Riri is not a muscular person in the MCU or the comics, but her first act includes pulling a metal bar from the interior of an elevator off the wall - something a fully grown, in good shape man would have trouble doing. This is in the first scene we see her in for the trailer, definitely setting a tone.

I don't have a problem when women are depicted as physically strong, so long as it makes sense (either their powers make them strong - ala Wonder Woman - or in the case of normal people, their physique makes it believable that they could do something like that - ala Gina Carano).

5. It should be noted that in the comics, Riri's first suit was reverse engineered and built using stolen materials - and then damaged the first time she uses it. It's not nearly as good an introduction as another younger hero entering the role of an established hero (Miles Morales) but was still 100x better than her introduction in the MCU, and this series does not appear to help with this.

Finally, in case you wanted to watch it anyway:

To get the MCU back to where it could be they have to get all of these dog shite products out of the pipeline. Hopefully this is buried and I never have to see Riri's black girl magic on screen fighting an important battle say against Doom or something.

Also, I can't wait for the social media retards to say this show failed because of race and not logic.

Going from a charismatic unlikeable and then likeable and sacrificing Iron Man to a black girl boss who struggles with "race" in fricking 2025 despite being a "brilliant" self made and genius tech scientist who is better and smarter than Tony Stark is so unbelievable by even MCU standards that this show and her shitty character is bound to fail.

We need it to fail so Disney knows that people do not want Kamala Khan, Riri Williams, and all the other young minority girl bosses to replace their beloved characters. The only "reboot" and "race swapped" characters that work are Nick Fury and Miles Morales and Miles is loved because he is his own thing. He doesn't try to cuck Peter and because the comic writers actually know that getting rid of Peter Parker is a death wish.

That's almost as dumb as Pepper being a badass in the IM suits in the Avenger movies.

For SEK and Madking this will be like the release of the final season of breaking bad.

Their youtubers will milk this for 20+ hours of Ironheart content for them.

TBF about the youtubers, Drinker and Nerdrotic will be 100% right about their negative assessment of this show. They weren't right about Thunderbolts, however.

Yeah, but how far do you have to reach to find the lowest hanging fruit to claim a win and feel good about it? Haha there are 7 seasons of this show so i guess it depends on your audience

Kamala Khan

Kamala was at least a pleasant character - the kind of person you could see liking if you met them in real life, even if they still weren't as true to her character as I would have liked.

Well, Miles appears in the comics after the Ultimate universe Peter Parker dies in battle against the Green Goblin. The introduction to his character though isn't filled with him "being the greatest" - he has to learn everything, as he is:
1. New
2. A kid

This is very similar, in a way, to his introduction in Spider-Verse - Miles isn't flying around on godmode the moment he is shown. He struggles throughout most of the movie, especially compared to all the other Spider people who have been doing the job for years. Even the older Peter, out of shape, is way more capable due to experience.

I don't think people have issues with new characters taking on legacy roles, so long as their introductions do justice to the legacy. Riri's original introduction skirted that criteria; the MCU version completely craps all over it. This is in direct contradiction to Miles, in both the comics and the movie - he 1000% honors the legacy and adores Peter, Gwen, etc.

Considering Tony said the suit was a surprise, we know he wasn't teaching her how to use it during those 5 years... so I just imagined Friday (the replacement AI for Jarvis) was doing most of the work. We're never shown that though.

I don't think it looks bad just very meh to me. I think a huge problem is how Riri was just dropped in out of nowhere in the last BP movie. No real buildup for her as a character and suddenly she's taking Tony's mantle. I believe in the comics she was actually mentored by Tony maybe if she was the kid Tony saved in Iron Man 3 and maybe interned with him somewhat we could actually get build up to her sort taking the Iron Man spot. Just seems lazily done like a lot of things in the recent MCU

Did you just not watch Ms Marvel at all? It's pretty obvious Kamala wasn't, a "girl boss". Stop regurgitating buzzwords you hear online

Three times you brought up race as the reason you already hate it and other projects like it, yet you want people to believe there aren't people out there who will shite on it solely because of race? Alright man
