To think i thought this was a safe stock.
Anyone else own this disaster close to 500 like me?

I had about $9000 worth from an ESPP. I sold half last year in a panic and felt bad about doing it but now i’m glad. Yeesh.

Didn't they post a bad outlook before the drug price thing?

Better question is when should we be buying? Thinking about snagging some

Yeah just looked at the chart and I'm thinking about getting in at these prices

Will DCA more but i got to see the bleeding stop at some point. As i stated thought i was getting a steal below 500 will add more when this finally gets some footing. Where that is at i have no idea? If you dont own any would be watching this one for sure. Hope to be laughing about this drop in a few years but right now Hurting .

UNH is starting to show symptoms of entering a death spiral.
When a company loses key personnel, misses its estimates and then announces it is ceasing giving future financial guidance, look out!

This is a poor strategy unless you are well versed in technical trading techniques. I've been burned before doing the same earlier in my career when I started investing. AT&T (T) is the one that comes to mind.

Might be a good time to pick some up to try and catch a small bounce back through the week. See if you can get 5% gain then abandon ship.

Nice gain so far after hours

Oh yeah.
Been buying for years through an ESPP. Back in a era when was in the $14's.
Historic Trends
Have gradually sold off over the years but still have 214 shares. My basis is $221, so I'm still above water, but it sucks watching it tank like that. But tough to sell even near the peak because of the tax impact. Rear view mirror stuff right now.
New CEO has been there previously for years and is very solid, so this to me is actually a positive development. Historic lows, you could argue this is a solid buy signal:
Seeing some after-hours bounce back...
$318.13
+$6.75
(+2.17%)
However, this will be a long-term hold - take couple of years for full recovery. This is the largest healthcare provider in the US - it will recover from this self-inflicted wound; but not anytime soon. Not going to touch any more for now. Trying to continue to diversify
Stock Analysis:
Analysis
UnitedHealth's overall score reflects a solid financial position with strong revenue growth and effective cash management. However, declining profitability metrics and bearish technical indicators temper the outlook. The earnings call highlighted both growth opportunities and challenges, affecting sentiment. Valuation remains balanced, offering a moderate dividend yield. Overall, the company is well-positioned but faces near-term challenges.

It seems the only thing coming out weekly on this is bad news after bad news. In one month has lost close to 50% of its stock value. That is just crazy considering this is in the DOW 30 and considered a top stock by many.

I bought shares and June 17 2027 500C. Good bit of them.
I always buy the fear on 10B+ companies.

UNH single handily made the djia red today despite Nasdaq and SP500 being up 0.8%

Why would you think they are safe?
I've warned people. They offer a shite product and are universally hated in healthcare. They are the worst insurance company I've had the displeasure to deal with. I've never accepted them and never will. They've succeeded by being criminals. Their time is up.

Well considering they are in the top 10 of allot of big billion dollar ETF's/funds is a start. Not saying they are winning any awards for their practices but a lot of retirement funds have them in their portfolio's. This stock is single handily keeping me negative on the year in my dividend portfolio. Hasn't been pretty the last month.

Yep. Couldn’t have happened to a better company,
Greed is NOT always good.
