According to the Espada flowchart, today is a tossup. Team is at .500 but they need a win to make tomorrow the series deciding game.
Bubic is 4-2 with a 1.69 era. Last two outings against the PopeSox and Orioles he's 2-0 with no earned runs, 10k's and 2 walks. Astros roughed him up a couple of weeks ago for 4 earned through 5 innings, so who knows. I'll tune in tonight.

Does anyone remember when the Astros had a pitching staff and one of the most feared lineups in baseball? How many Charlatans in a front office does it take to destroy an MLB franchise? We're on our way to finding out.

Bottom 4 MLB teams with the bases loaded:

27. Kansas City Royals : 292BA, 17 RBI
28. San Diego Padres: .235BA, 18 RBI
29. Pittsburgh Pirates: .238BA, 17RBI
30. Houston Astros: .125BA, 18 RBI

My word. We're batting 100+ point worse than the next worst team. Just impossibly bad.

Well when you hire a Dollar General manager, you'll find out in very short order. Didn't want to pay for Tuck or Bregs and they've combined for 64 RBI's this year which is 40% f what the Astros have scored as a team this year. Framber and Yordon will be the next on the "we can't afford them" list to be dealt away.

Cocksuck factually cannot hit in the 4-hole. I would blame our analytics staff, but it shouldn't take a quant to notice that he is not worthy of the 4-hole. Full blame to Espada on this one

Jake Bloss is to have Tommy John.

Joey Lopes is in AAA, Wagners kid got demoted after struggling in the majors this year. It sure seemed like we gave up a haul at the time but to this point we're the only one that got any value out of that trade.

Christian Walker doing Christian Walker things in first inning. And Astros still have only scored 8 runs in the first inning in 41 games.

With the given stats on Walker in the 4 hole vs 3 or 5, I’m sure not having Yed would make a difference, but if he has to be in the lineup, for God’s sake get him out of the 4 hole

Our 1st innings and hitting w bases loaded stats are impossible to equate with a .500 record, esp with our SOS

The good news is we can only improve from that spot.

He has taken the Alex Bregman suck for the first 2 months of the season role, and he’s run with it.

It’s gotta be Pena Altuve ESock Yordan when the big guy gets back. Whatever happens after that is debatable…could see trying to keep Yanier in the 5 or putting Walker there.

How bad does Walker have to be to pitch around Paredes with a man on 1st?

I’ve seen worse slides, but not many

This roster is nothing if not imperfect, awkward, and incompetent in all of the little things that separate good from bad
