Currently losing to the Padres 21-0. This will put them at 6-33 for the season. In their last 4 games, they've given up 10, 11, 13 and now 21 runs. Is this the worst baseball team of post-expansion MLB?

sometimes forget that they're even a legit MLB franchise to be honest.
yea they did make the World Series that one year, but outside of that, they're basically the same as the Savannah Bananas.
a gimmick MLB team playing in a gimmick stadium.

And that World Series appearance took an unheard of, fluky run where they won 21/22 games through the NLCS after sitting at a 76-72 record in mid-September.

We're just even-stevening though we've been doing that for the last 15 years or so. Sucks to be a Rockies fan and it's still more expensive to go to a Rockies game than it is to go to a Braves game. Go figure.

I quit caring after Todd helton retired.

The sad part is that Denver has shown it can really be a baseball town but the Rockies haven't done their part.
20 years of the humidor hasn't helped at all so why not go back to full gimmick and press the home stadium advantage. It's like if the Whitey Herzog Cardinals had not used what Busch Stadium gave them and started swinging for the fences instead of focusing on manufacturing runs.
The original idea to store balls in the humidor at Coors was to make it easier to pitch at home to keep things more stable for Rockies pitchers home vs the road but it hasn't done shite for the team over the years so ditch the humidor and build teams specifically for Coors Field.

The state of Colorado has a bunch of rabid baseball fans at all levels. We also support our minor leagues very well.
We need to embrace our climate uniqueness and make the most of it.
The Braves of the 90s pitching here did it very well. They approached it like a softball game.
Expect to give up a couple more runs (don't go to the bp just because they gave up 4 or 5 runs) and just expect to pitch an extra 10-15 pitches.
Also, expect that your hitters can hit in Denver just as well as the Rockies can. They dominated the Rockies even though they were mostly finesse pitchers and gave up a few more dingers than they normally did.

Are the Pirates their AAA team?

You say this like it's an easy thing to reach the World Series. There's a big gap between the Savannah Bananas and a high level big league club. The Mariners have never been to a WS in almost 50 years as a franchise.
The Rockies' problem is shitty ownership and a very antiquated front office due to said ownership. Their brutal division is going to roast them this year. Could be a win total in the 30s.

This is 100% true and the Rockies attendance reflects this despite the miserable results on the field here for however many seasons now. The fans deserve better ownership.
Coors Field is still a great park, too, despite its "age".

Yep a very nice place. I always thought much nicer than the Ted (even though I loved going to games there).

No more gimmicky than other teams/parks. Besides a lot of baseball has its origins in gimmick.

2025 Rockies to the 2024 White Sox

They're the worst for my money. Inexplicably bad. It's fun to watch

And it should surprise no one but Bud Black has been fired.

What’s amazing is they still had 38k fans for Saturday. It’s an amazing park with amazing weather except for July-August.
The only recourse is for the fans to cause enough pain that Monford sells the team. The catch 22 is that everybody has to stop going to the games, and I’m part of that problem as it’s cheap tix to take my son to games so idk what will ever change in regards to ownership.
