With Garrett’s dad coaching offense, I think there will be a strong push to get Garrett next year and that’ll require a high pick.

Hopefully Shough plays well.

Why are we convinced Nussmeir is a top pick again? Because burrow and Daniels improved?

Garrett's Dad isn't the GM or Director of Player Personnel. Just because isn't a good enough a reason to draft any player, especially a Staff Members son.

He was one of the top QBs in cfb last year. He’s a favorite to win the heisman. Talented arm, great character, son of a coach. He could’ve declared for the draft and been drafted in the first 2-3 rounds easy. I think most people would’ve picked him over Shuck

Because he has a cannon arm, and basically every football analyst out there has him as a Top 5 QB prospect for the next cycle.

Nuss has to drastically improve your he considered a first round pick or future nfl qb. He can be alarmingly bad at times. He has a long way to go and this talk about tank for Nuss or take Nuss next year is comical. They just invested a decent pick in a qb.

This is why I asked. It’s not being negative either. The guy legitimately went to pieces multiple times last season. He lacked a lot of poise in multiple big game scenarios. I think he will get drafted and have a chance to be a decent nfl qb. But Godamn man if we had a year that nets us a top 3 pick and we end up with him it would feel really fricking deflating.

Im fine with drafting Shuck and pray we’re not thinking about drafting another QB next year.

But Nuss never really fell to pieces last season. He struggled against A&M and Ole Miss. but he did engineer a game winner against the Rebels.

Ehh agree to disagree. Situationally the guy fricks up a lot. That last drive against USC where we could’ve won was pure dog shite on his part. His accuracy in the Florida, ole miss, and a&m games was terrible. He simply refuses to take wide open chunks of yardage in front of him with his feet in tight games.

No I agree. I’m not a Nuss homer. He’s a good QB though.

I should have been more clear.

I just don’t think he ever “fell to pieces”last season if you get the situational awareness.

Admittedly, the only lsu game that I watched last year was against bama, but he looked downright bad against that defense.

I like him. He’s tough and has a big arm. Doesn’t seem like a cerebral assassin but a good dude. Can run a little bit if he wants to. Honestly kinda reminds me of a stronger armed Derek Carr

Just doesn’t seem near a guy worth talking about tanking for yet. Like if he did everything he has currently done to this point and okayed for UF or FSU nobody would be talking about tanking for him here.

Arch Manning isn't just going to start one year and be the number one pick in the draft. He'll be at Texas for at least 2 years starting. Depending on if nuss can take the leap I wouldn't Bank on him either. If he takes a burrow and Daniel's type jump then yes you do whatever you can to get him.

Nuss threw for 1000 more yards than Shuck and 6 mores touchdowns lol

Nobody was talking about Shough in the first round or near a top pick like they do Nuss. So there is a difference and not sure why you’re comparing the situation. We can go look at Nuss stats against legit competition last year and he was so bad in almost every meaningful game. He has the talent but the talk of him being a top 5 pick at this point is comical. He has a very long way to go.

He only needs a slight increase in production to make his way into the first round.
