Was a beautiful restaurant from a chef I like but it just never worked for me.

Time to roll out the annual restaurant closure prediction thread.

Hot Stuff by the Hereford group, you’re on deck!

Yea, for whatever reason Justin couldn't make it happen at Justine. I had hopes of it being another Peristyle but it just didn't evolve. A bright side is maybe La Petite gets a boost.

Is that doing poorly? I went once and liked it well enough but never went back

I never understood how Justine's food was such a miss given how LPG is

Never went to Justine because I always heard the food was average at best and it was more a “vibe” spot.

Went to LPG for the first time early this year and had a duck special that was amazing. Among the better bites I’ve had in the city.

THE most perplexing thing. Its like they were going for 100% vibe and then were trying to make the food as simple as possible, like simple parisian bistro with a total vibe

It was odd

To me (and, no, I'm no "influencer" I can assure you), the "vibe" was just goofy. It had the weirdest lighting and the whole place felt like you were eating in some sort of restaurant screen set, versus eating in an actual restaurant.

It of course didn't help that the food was just completely forgettable.

People just didn’t ’get it’. French food isn’t bougie…it was rustic French and NOLA is just too fussy about food. The people missed, the restaurant didn’t. It was was an awesome place and NOLA turned their nose up.

Lmao. The only people who Will miss this place are social media influencers. It’s like everything you wrote is the opposite of true. I’m cringing for you:

K. NOLA shits on true French cooking and you can’t say a word otherwise. Have it though…your Creole or Cajun…or whatever TF yall do.

Restaurants have to blow me away. Prices have gotten ridiculous. A good meal costs you $300-500 nowadays with alcohol and frankly the food typically isn’t great. I’d rather cook at home.

Ah yes, rustic French classics like:
- Fish & Chips
- Fried Chicken Sandwich
- Justine Burger
- Shrimp & Grits

Did you look at the menu?

What is rustic French about a burger? Also, you can still get the burger at LPG.

The fricking au poivre sauce.

Y’all can all just be wrong, it’s OK.
