Boat storage around Round Rock and North Austin is a new car payment per month. Some enclosed storage is a house payment for the poors.

Boats are toys and cost money, I get it but I just don't see how a tin roof and 20 feet length of space should cost 350 a month.

I will not buy a house with a yard smaller then 1/4acre with enough room on at least one side of the house for a boat and trailer to drive into back yard, plus only in non HOA.

I buy accordingly

If I ever move to a densely populated area and can’t have my boat at my house I will buy a lot within 30min of my house and build a cheap pole barn for my tools and boat.

Those are the only two options I will ever use. I refuse to rent a slip or storage

I got stationed in an area for work about7 months and rented out my house. Work supplied living area didn’t allow me to bring my boat and I tarped it and put it at a long term storage facility that some places had rvs and campers I think for around 240$ if I remember right it was $10 per foot of length or something like that so $240 max

I got one in Houston for 130 a month. Paying more than average but most don't allow 24 hour access

Are you talking covered or uncovered storage?

Where and what size? I didn't find anything under 350-400 for 40' length like 5 years ago. Ant imagine now. I'll pay 275 tommorow if it can fit my boat. Lol.

There's about 5 places with openings.

Usually 14x50.

Been there done that, RV too. Researched starting my own storage business but toys are luxury items and few people put them outside of luxury land. Anyone can build out in the sticks but people want their toys close to them. If you don’t mind waiting a decade or two to make money, build your own.

I rent from a place that's only $60/mo and a half mile from my house, BUT it's not covered and has no power/water. That said, there's not a tree with in 200 yards, so my boat stays clean. I've got plenty room in the yard and built my fence with a yuge double gate, but to hell with these oak trees. My boat is a mess every morning when in bring it home overnight to fish.

Well now let's not get carried away. Lol. It's been sitting in my driveway for 8 years because of these prices. Just getting tired of all the compounding every year. Haha. Ironically that's what I did today

Covered. Full cover, meaning in a protected building is 600 plus at some places. One place quoted me 850, you have to be kidding. I don't even need power, going to keep my batteries at home. They would just get stolen anyway.

I just need a place for a year or two until I get some of my properties in control. I have plenty of land but I don't want to have to drive 2 hours to pick up my boat when I fish around Austin.

It's in my garage now but I can't get it out or put it back in with the cars parked in my street now.

I wish I would have known this 20 years ago. I would have the best boat storage in Pflugerville Texas at only 750 a month.. shite I will give you a free car wash once a month.

Be retired now. My wife's cousin actually has multiple storage units down on the Texas coast and makes damn good money but even he is amazed at the prices we are getting quoted her in Round Rock are.

But did you know sales taxes are not included for boat storage in Texas??
They forgot a way to steal our money for once.

Boat storage is outrageous for sure…mainly because the majority of Americans have no choice but to rent storage, if they want a boat. In fairness to storage facilities though, theft and vandalism are pretty rampant at those facilities and they spend a pretty good amount of money trying to prevent that.
