Nigel Farage’s Reform Party Did Very Well In Local Elections, Conservatives Death Spiral

Farage’s Reform did very well in local council and mayor elections up and down England this week. Labour had a net loss and the Conservatives continued to bleed out as a political party, suffering more massive losses including many in long time reliable Conservative constituencies.
"Victory in Runcorn & Helsby proves we are now the opposition party to this Labour government," Farage said on X. "With this and other results tonight, it’s clear that if you vote Conservative you will get Labour. But if you vote Reform, you get Reform. You are witnessing the death of a party that’s been around since 1832. They stand for nothing.”

Is this a good thing? I don't really understand Britain's political system.

To my feeble understanding, the Reform Party in the UK is a very loose equivalent to MAGA. They’re tired of being overrun, and want the more traditional UK back.

Conservatives in the UK are not anything like conservatives in the US. They're more akin to democrats

It’s necessary medicine.
The Conservative Party is completely useless and worthless. A rough equivalent is Reform is England First while the Conservative Party is the GOPe. The Labour Party has gone full Marxist, tilting sharply away from Tony Blair’s New Labour move toward the center 20+ years ago.

So they’re just like most of our elected “Republicans” then.

17.4% swing in favor of Reform compared to the 2024 General Election in Runcorn and Helsby. This is in Cheshire, which is rural but not far from Liverpool (far left politically) and the Welsh border.

Conservatives in The UK are similar to our neo-con RINO republicans like Mittens. The Labour Party is similar to our democrats, but the radicals have a lot more sway over there. Reform is basically MAGA, but instead of taking over the GOP and wearing it like a skin suit, they fully broke away from the corrupt lying bastards and formed their own party.
The UK, however uses a “first passed the poll” election system, where candidates frequently win with minorities of the vote, often less than 30%. Labour’s victory last year was more about Reform taking votes from the conservatives than it was about Labour gaining votes. Voters were sick of the conservatives slow-walking Brexit, increasing spending and taxes, and accelerating migration to the UK despite campaigning to do the opposite. Labour ended up winning because votes between the conservatives and reform were split enough that Labour got the biggest slice, but fell vastly short of a majority.
None of this matters, though, because just like in every other country, the conservatives would rather work with the liberals than with Reform despite the fact that on paper, Reform IS the conservative platform.

Labour party is crazy left. Think an entire party of Bernie Sanders and AOC, though with much nicer accents and higher mental acuity.
Conservative party is still very far left, and are the milquetoast type globalist neo-cons.
Reform party gets called MAGA like, but would still be very left leaning according to US standards.
So, in the UK you have the far, far left, the far left and the left.

Here is Reforms Constitution. Read section 2 to see what they are about. They are at least as conservative as Trump.

Who cares, Britain doesn’t matter.

Labour is to the far left of an average democrat
Torries are between labour and a neocon.
Reform is still left on some issues but probably a form of England First/MAGBA.
Torries suffer from the same problem as RINOs. Associate themselves with some conservative/freedom issues but when it comes down to it will do typical leftist shite. They ran on curbing immigration and woke and did nothing to stop it at the local/national level.
