Who are we rooting for in the Texas/Arkansas series that begins tonight?

I would think it’s pretty obvious you have to root against Arkansas but want to see tRants thoughts.
Texas has a 5 game lead on us and Arkansas with 9 games to go so in order for us to catch them they’d need a losing record here on out and we’d need to go undefeated. Safe to say that won’t happen and they even own the H2H tiebreaker. Get the 2 seed and let’s take Texas down in Hoover/Omaha in the championship.

Even though the 1 game we took from them Spencer started, it’s a big blow being down their ace the rest of the season and 1 less reliable arm they have in the postseason. They still have 6 pitchers with sub-3.0 ERAs and 30+ IP though.
id like to see a title game rematch. If only we went to Evans to close out game 2 with the lead in the 7th we could’ve taken that series against UT

Texas is probably too far to catch. I’d actually like them to beat Arky so we are comfortably in the top 4.

I’m pulling for asteroids as well. Or just large objects in general to hit the field while they play.

Arkansas: #1 UT, @#2 LSU, #6 UT
Expecting the top 4 to wind up Texas, LSU, and Georgia. Georgia gets Mizzou this week so chalk them up to 15-9 with last 2 series against A&M and Bama

I'll be watching tonight just to enjoy a great game of baseball. Not rooting for either team

The more Arkansas, TN, UGA, OM, Bama, Vandy, UGA lose the better for us
Texas way too far ahead
UGA should be up there close to us after the weekend since they get Mizzou

Does it really matter?
If you’re the 2 seed, you play the winner of the 7, 10, and 15 seeds on Friday. If you win that game, you play Arkansas on Saturday.
If you’re the 3 seed, you play the winner of the 6, 11, and 14 seeds on Friday. If you win that game, you play… Arkansas on Saturday.
The only difference is the Friday matchup. At this point I don’t think anyone can say either confidence whether being the #2 or #3 seed will get you a better matchup.
ETA: Anyone know how the home/away designations work with the new format? That might be one reason the 2 seed becomes more important.

If you’re the 3 seed

It's not what SEC finish you get but the National Seed finish. I want to be the #2 or #3 national seed so we wouldn't match up with Texas again until the finals in Omaha.

I wonder if we might as well prefer others outside of Texas to lose. Texas is so far out in front that maybe it’s better if others lose? Then again they could go on a losing streak.
