The problem with this series is that they are literally doing supernatural/impossible magic tricks.
These movies would be so much better if it was just a crew of magicians using their skills (misdirection, sleight of hand, etc.) to pull off heists.

Yep. I'm not interested in magic or supernatural in this context. I wanted to see skill.

100%. It was really disappointing to get into the movie and realize every trick was going to be CG. Like sure they'd have needed body doubles to do a lot of actual tricks but that's fine. Making everything impossible CG stuff was lame as hell.

All that stuff actually makes this series kind of fun for me It’s bad in almost every way, but I enjoy slop from time to time and the first two are just well made enough that’s it’s entertaining. Michael Cain and Morgan Freenan gave the first two some juice.

The bad humor used to showcase the humor tells me those will benthe funniest parts of the whole thing.
