The White House on Tuesday denounced Amazon's reported plans to disclose the cost that U.S. tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump were adding to its products, and slammed the retail giant for its past ties to China.
Facts are bad

Why don’t you want the American public to know what tariffs are costing them?

It’s petty, but it’ll just reveal how much of the crap they sell is made in China.

I don't have a problem with Amazon doing this.
Beyond potentially making Trump look bad, what is so bad about this?
If anything (as noted above) ...
GenZ and Millenials buy way too much Temu anyways

I was never expecting them anyways since it was a sham.

One the other hand, it'll make it more obvious for patriots to see what is cheap Chinese shite when shopping on Amazon.

Taxes are separated out on most receipts. This is no different.

Amazon just told us what products aren’t made in the USA.
Now we know what not to buy.
The left are always doing dumb shite.

Amazon denies it planned to disclose cost of US tariffs on its website
At risk of getting flamed, the article's headline is that Amazon denied doing it. White House still denounced it. Also, I don't know if I really care if Amazon does it or not.

I think the WH is wrong to not support this. You obviously think the tariffs are going to achieve whatever the end-goal is, lean into it as a way of saying, now you know the cost of not not buying American made goods.

If they want to do that, they should have the freedom to do so. However, it would seem like an odd business choice to draw attention to how products you're selling are more expensive rather than just trying to do business as usual hoping they will buy your products instead of either looking elsewhere or just flat-out not buying your products at all due to highlighted increases in cost.

This should be mandatory for all retailers

I thought tariffs were good, and people were eager to pay higher prices? Why whould the WH want this hidden?
Posted on 4/29/25 at 10:24 am to onepiecemayne
I thought we were all for transparency.

Because it makes their Cult leader look bad.

Why didn't they do the same during Bidenflation, posting a side by side current price next to what it was when Trump was in office?
I expect a fun answer.

Yeah, this wouldn't exactly be an "own" of Trump.
