Three decade battle with cancer! Very underrated band. They were supposed to play in New Orleans last year, but his cancer came back. Sucks.

SIRIUS Ch. 33 First Wave often gave updates on Mike and how hard he fought for 3o+ years with lymphoma & blood cancer. His wife Jules was also a member of The Alarm playing keyboard and singing backup vocals. RIP MP

68 Guns was another solid song

Well, Ramona likes her malt liquor
And a band from Wales that's called The Alarm
She said she cried when they broke up
She still plays their records at the snake farm..

Very sad news. I was not a fan of The Alarm back in the day but came to appreciate them later. After watching the doc about his cancer journey and the concert he organized at a base camp on Everest, I became a fan of Mike as a person.

Godspeed Mike.

Had tickets and was really looking forward to that show. His wife documented their subsequent cancer journey over the next year on instagram. He was unbelievably strong, positive, brave and uplifting in the face of a grim diagnosis. RIP, Mike.

We had tickets as well, I actually pulled up the old text I sent to a friend that the show was canceled and texted her yesterday that he died, almost a year to the day apart.

I've seen them quite a few times since I moved to NJ as they play up that way on most of their tours, always put on a good show.

Strength is a great album but......the production is very dated if you listen to it now.
