Looks like a service dog of an unknown breed bit a passenger on an American Airlines flight which caused it to divert.

American confirmed it but there isn't much info available.

Good thing too. I’m sure it was about to take the whole plane down

It probably was an emotional support animal instead of a true service dog.
They are very lax with those.

Hopefully the sue the frick out of aa. They need to quit letting all these snowflakes bring they unruly pets with them everywhere. Maybe this will help tighten down on what they want to define as a service dog.

The peak was 2017. I was at the gate for a flight in Providence. It seemed like every fifth person had a dog. Most were what I call “purse dogs.” Nobody was blind. It was clear that they just had a doctor write “emotional support” or whatever in their record.

Should've had your mutt muzzled then.

I hope those people are required to carry insurance and it's checked prior to letting them board.

It's hard to find a weaker subspecies than that of people who feel the need to fly with an emotional support pet. All they are doing is getting to fly their dog for free so they don't have to pay someone else to drive their dog to their end destination. You shouldn't be flying if you require a f'ing pet on your lap.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure companies' hands are tied when it comes to someone claiming a service animal. There's no paperwork, and all they can ask is whether or not it's a service animal and what its job is. People just lie and say their mutts are service dogs.

Emotional support animal is entirely different and doesn't get the same protections as service dogs
