This concept is pretty crazy and it got me thinking what would be the perfect alternate reality/dimension that you could set up for yourself. Ideally I would make it that my family was completely healthy and we had enough money to be comfortable but not insanely rich. I would not want to be emperor of the universe or do harm to anyone. Just simple pleasures and no financial stress and I am good to go. What say you guys and gals? What would your perfect alternate dimension be?

Why would you not want to just be insanely rich?

Would allow you to not have to work, you could literally do anything you wanted, and you could use it to do good charitable works.

Or better yet, why not create a truly perfect communist society.

I think most people agree that the idea of a community is good, but most recognize it’s not feasible because there will always be people who take advantage of it. But in this situation you could create the perfect society.

You can roll your eyes all you want but in this situation it would work, because the whole premise is that every reality that could exist does in fact exist and you are picking that one out.

You could easily find the one where everyone gets along perfectly.

You could also find the one where everyone has all they need and never has to work because the robots do it all and are hardwired to never go “terminator”.

Because no matter how much you think it wouldn't, money will corrupt you. It may be slow and not noticeable at first but too much money will ruin you.

The idea sounds perfect, it's always sounded perfect, it's always going to sound perfect. Unfortunately the reality of it is not perfect and the outcome is always the same: misery, suffering, death.

i'm a Christian and about as right wing/capitalist/libertarian as you can get.

communism sounds awesome. i've just seen it practiced and failed too many times to believe it can work on this side of heaven.

heck even a benevolent dictatorship can work out. El Salvador has literally put in a dictator and mostly eliminated crime in a few years. but i guarantee some innocent people went to jail and will never be seen again.

You would have to have alternate or a 4th dimension to make this work. Only reason I hated the episode because they never explained that. It was just some technology we expected worked.

If you open your Bible this is a lot how the New Heaven and New Earth sound. Believe and Repent. That's what the New Testament says...

Yeah I agree but sometimes I feel like shows are fiction for a reason and don't have to explain every detail. It just is what it is.

I also thought about the moral implications of changing anything. What could devolve even from improving physical or mental health without going through the work of doing it yourself? The only thing I could think of is changing an illness or chronic disease for people so they don't have to see a child die or suffer.

The premise of the show is that in an infinite universe there are infinite possibilities and because of that there is literally infinite versions in which it works perfectly because that’s the idea of infinity.

I know it may be hard to grasp but it exists in that situation.

Just like there is a version of the 2019 LSU football team where everything went the exact same way but instead of fans in the stands there were 100’000 octopi.

In reality I agree. But we are talking within the realm of quantum universes where you can select how certain things work. In that event the person with the “pendant” would be the only one that could be corrupted.

I mean they kind of explained it. She had a quantum computer that allowed her to connect to infinite alternate realities. That’s the premise. And under that premise there are infinite examples of infinite examples. It’s mind boggling

I do see what you're saying and your point. In infinite universes there is one where you can have everything you want and not be corrupted. But even Verity couldn't escape her original reality of bullying and no matter what she did she wasn't happy.

That’s because she’s a woman. Men are far more likely to be able to pull it off.

I think every episode this season centers around creating an alternate reality inside the person’s brain. Bete Noire was one of the more boring of the played out idea.
