You have to be old AF to know who he is.

I don't know who that is, but only he can prevent forest fires.

I was at LSU when he was a thing.

You remember Sister Cindy? She called me a fornicator. She wasn't wrong.

In fact, the high school in Breakfast Club was named in honor of him.

Man he’s good. Larry McMurtry’s son.

Just saw him at Manship Theater a couple
months ago.

His son Curtis is very good too.

He is. When I lived in Austin I’d go watch him at the Continental Club every Wednesday night where he did a midnight show.

I lived three houses away from him and my dog would always try and chase his cats when we went on a walk.

McMurtry also played and drank at our neighborhood bar, Whip-In. Talked to him and his son a couple of times, he hates people and is a curmudgeon, but I can’t blame him, people suck.

Hell of a songwriter and guitar player.

Wow. I knew Ted when he was Free Speech Alley moderator, but doubt that he would remember me from that time. Then he went to Southern Law School. Then he went off tilting at legal windmills out west - maybe Montana.
Then he came back to BR to practice law. Was not pretty to witness.
Have not heard about him in many years.

Fighting “Elitism” at any university these days would be fighting the leftist Marxist establishment. I wonder if he’d be so inclined to the fight in todays world. Funny how things change.

I shook hands with him after the show and well now that you mention it I can see that.

But I’m close to the get off my lawn stage and I agree people suck so no problem there. Actually admiration. I’ll tuck that away for next time I see him.

We have been getting a lot of those red dirt musicians on that circuit with Red Dragon but he’s closing that so I’m afraid we will lose that little bit of good live music we have. I’ve seen Guy Clark, Cody Canada, Dale Watson, Jason Boland, Rodney Crowell and a lot of others over the years. Afraid that’s going to disappear. Shame.
