Probably sometime after we learn how to make something without oil…..Hell we can’t even make electric cars without oil.

Scared money don’t make money.

You care so much it took you a week to find out

I was told the democrats shutdown the Keystone pipeline and laid everyone off. How is it leaking?

To produce enough electricity without oil we would end up with turning nature into what looks like massive computer chips. Cause ya know...covering the land in man made materials to soak up sun totally won't ruin the environment.
Until solar panels yield a greater return than 15 percent they are extremely limited. I've got a buddy that has 3 huge banks of solar for his house and he lives like he is squeezing electricity from a dry sponge. He can't just use what he wants when he wants..his energy use is on his mind 24/7

You first bitch.
I will stick with my ICE trucks, plastics, hell just about everything.

It came out of the ground, it went back into the ground.
Would it have become more acceptable if the spill involved a tanker spilling a couple of million barrels in the Pacific, several railcars spilling up to 30,000 gallons each while crossing the Mississippi river, or a tractor trailer cruising the highways in Chicago with 25 to 30,000?
I get it that you're taking aim at petroleum in particular and its a sticky mess but the hard truth is, oil is not going away in our lifetime.
In my opinion, pipelines are the safest method of moving it from extraction to refining.
Petroleum is what your vegan shoes and belts are made of. Petrol heats and cools our hospitals, businesses and home. Petrol brings you food.

One of the leaks from a few years ago was a bad weld from a Canadian company.
They probably have sections manufactured in some Asian countries too.

Me too. What do we do with China to keep that happening?

The extension that was going to go down to the gulf was cancelled by Biden.
Between us and Canada we wouldn’t need to deal at all with middle eastern oil.
But that makes too much sense.

It would take around 13 million acres (20k square miles) of solar panels to power the united states...and that's assuming no clouds ever. Double that figure if you can figure out how to store it (you cant) for use at night.
Solar and wind are supplemental to fossil fuels they cannot currently replace it entirely.

Everything about what you were doing to make this post and read these replies relies on fossil fuels. Get rid of everything you own then you can post from a high horse...well you wouldn't be able to because you gave up everything made with fossil fuels.
Oh and you wouldn't have power either because all the renewables use fossil fuels to be created and work.

It's in almost everything. We are probably 100+ years away.
Modern lifestyle is not possible without oil.
