The more I look at it the more the Luka Doncic to Lakers trade makes zero sense

It makes absolutely no sense at all

Luka is a Top 3 player in the NBA. As a trade piece you could say he would be #2 only to Wemby (Jokic's age makes Luka a more desirable trade piece)

Even if the Mavs wanted to trade him thinking he wouldn't resign or whatever- they could have gotten FAR more in return than what they did

OKC has many draft picks to give up

Other teams like Brooklyn would have given up many firsts

They could have gotten so much more than AD and a first

That's what pisses me off most as a Mavs fan - the paltry return

It makes absolutely no sense. How does Nico Harrison still have a job?

we know.

everyone knows.

Nico and the owner must be the only ones that didn't know

edit: oh wait we're supposed to call them governors now

OKC would have easily given up chet and an arse ton of picks.

Miami would have given up bam and an arse ton of picks.

You could have gotten Paolo from Orlando.

There is as literally 0 reasons to do it. None. Zip. Nada. Mvp caliber top 3 player off a nba finals appearance.

You had to look at this more to realize it was the most insane trade ever in history?

The owner wanted a new stadium, Dallas said no and she got pissed. Now she’s tanking to move the team to San Antonio.

I'm completely convinced with all you said and this making ZERO sense that the NBA was in on it and Nico agreed to be the fall guy and is receiving some sort of compensation behind the scenes.

LeBron is about to retire leaving the biggest franchise in the league with absolutely nothing there afterwards...

The whole NBA ratings needing a kick...

With how retarded it was that Luka got traded, it's crazy that this seems like it could be a possibility.

My cousin said this is a type of trade that the AI in NBA2k would reject if it was proposed

GM's frequently do obviously dumb things. The Browns gave Deshaun Watson the farm, Embiid got a huge extension that doesn't even start until 26-27, the Colts bet their future on Anthony Richardson, etc, etc....

Owner is trying to get fans in uproar to try and move to vegas since she will never be able to build casino in Dallas area which was why she bought team, sell off brand asset

What if the plan is to trade Luka for Joker next year? Joker has 2 years on his deal?

After over 2 months watching the aftermath of this trade being here in Dallas I am now convinced the NBA orchestrated this trade behind the scenes to help the Lakers which in turn will help the sagging ratings. NOTHING about this trade makes any sense.

-Cuban sells majority ownership to casino magnets who know nothing about basketball & he has no way to veto any trades. They claim Nico ran the trade past Patrick Dumont & he said okay, you are the GM, I trust you.

-Mavs GM Nico was Kobe's shoe rep at Nike. Lakers GM Rob Pelinka was Kobe's Agent. They are close friends & claim they pulled off this trade behind the scenes because if the Mavs let it get out that Luka was on the market all hell would break loose.

-The Mavs had thousands of season ticket holders cancel their tickets after the trade. It is being reported the Mavs will lose 9 figures over the next few years based on the amount of losses in season tickets/sponsorships. They came out after the trade & confirmed they plan to INCREASE ticket prices next year.

-The outrage amongst fans & media is like nothing ever seen in NBA history because something this idiotic has never happened.

-Some very brave investigative journalist needs to find out if the NBA had anything to do with making this trade happen & completely expose the NBA for this.

Don’t have SA joining LA and NY as the only 2 nba team cities but I choose to believe you.

I’m assuming you meant to say Las Vegas.

Because that is definitely true.

Patently obvious what they are doing and why.
