I don’t drink Blanton’s regularly, but I do enjoy Eagle Rare & it is becoming increasingly more difficult to find. Not necessarily more expensive, just more difficult…

Is Blanton’s still hard to get? The liquor stores here in Houston seem to always have it, at least the ones I go to.

Kinda comes in waves. I’ll see if for a bit then it’s gone for a long period.

Why not just go to an upscale bar or restaurant and try different Bourbons until you find something you like? It sucks spending $100+ on a bottle and discovering you don’t like it.

Not a bourbon, but High West Midwinter's Night Dram is hard to find, and pretty pricey.

Here in Memphis hard to find are:

Weller Antique, 12 yr and Full Proof
Special reserve is easy but the others above full proof are impossible.

Russell’s 13 yr
Eagle 17yr
I see Willett purple top regularly put I’m not spending $400 on a bottle.

I found a bottle of Joseph Magnus Cigar blend a couple of weeks ago.

Blanton’s gold is never seen

I see Blanton’s, Eagle rare fairly regularly. Col Taylor occasionally.

Depends on where you live. I’m in Iowa but across the river in IL all the lower level allocated stuff is easy to find. The EHT, ER, Blantons type stuff. The next tier Stagg, EHT Straight Rye, Blantons SFTB, Weller FP, Antique, etc… is still tougher to find but getting easier. I think the bubble has pretty much popped and you’ll start to see more just depends on how your state does allocation. If you want some shelfers that are pretty great the Heaven Hill grain to glass are all very good, Jack Daniels SBBP, Green River Cask Strength, if your hard pressed Very Opd Barton 100 proof. The biggest sleeper of them all is Larceny Barrel Proof, pound for pound best thing out there IMO that can be found pretty regularly for $75 or so. It’s wheated but I’ve never blinded it against BTAC where it didn’t finish in the top 2

I meant the Jack Daniel’s SBBP Rye, the bourbon is good but the Rye version is a step above IMO

I knew I came to the right place. Thanks for the info. There’s quite a few I can add to the list to hunt around for!

I've seen plenty of Blanton's in several places recently.

I haven't seen any Booker's in a couple of years.

You can drive down to the Sazerac House in New Orleans and pick these up when the doors open virtually every day of the week. There is a 90 day jail on these, when you buy one they take your ID and you can't buy again until the 90 is up. But they are available

Germantown Wine and Liquor across from Methodist usually has really good stuff.

Wilkinson's on 72 will have very good stuff at time. Some times the price is good and sometimes it's really bad. They may be temporarily closed though.

I found the bottle of Joseph Magnus at Cheers on Byhalia (across from Target). One of the best I've had.

Corks normally has good stuff but they make you buy something else with it normally and I just don't do that most of the time. If it's something great I will but it has to be really good.

I've found Willett Rye 7yr several times at Poplar Wine and Spirits (Poplar and Houston Levee).

ETA:
Cheers also had Willett 8yr Wheated for what seemed to be pretty decent price ($225)

I have only ever seen Purple Tops in raffles. I regret mine greatly.
