Where does the “blue” in “Come on, blue” come from?

I despise when people scream this. The umps shirts are always navy or black.

Are people stupid or color blind?

They were known for wearing blue in the early days of baseball. You can’t use google while you’re sitting in Lafitte’s?

You learn something new everyday. After a little digging, they wore blue almost exclusively until 2000 when they went to grey pants/black shirts. There are some instances where they wore white, red or grey but blue was dominant for baseballs entire existence until 2000.

Go to little league parks and you’ll see it still today.
