lol. I did a 5 day visit to Santo Domingo in ‘22, went all over, and never felt unsafe. We were in a barrio helping clean up a public park for 3 full days. People were exceptionally friendly to us and were grateful to have help. I had a Haitian dude follow me around for half hour trying to get me to go to his whore house, but that was the extent of my issues.

Every time I am talking to someone who has to get a project past inspection I curse our ridiculous bureaucratic system. Then I see something like this.
Of course, let's not forget what happened at the Hard Rock in NOLA and how the system screwed that one up.
