China has long built it reputation of a super power through ambiguity. They manipulate their currency, stealing ip’s, and using subsidies to gain market advantage.

Trump through his actions now backed China into a corner to take the U.S. head on. Super power vs Super power based on our economies.

China has been building itself to be independent from the U.S. economic system and China has tried to hide that or flex we are more dependent on them. They use soft power to gain foot holds across the globe through fears of what they may do or the economic power they may have.

China can no longer hide behind that previous system and now has to show force on the power they truly wield.

I don’t think it’s his main goal but I think it’s unintentional on the fact he doesn’t believe China is as powerful as the rest of the world believes. So if he is wrong he would not expect the consequences if China isn’t actually a paper tiger.

Ammo is expensive. Forcing them to expend it is deliberate.

china has agricultural stores they can use to offset the increased cost to the public. but that will last so long. once cost increase hit and shortages hit they will have an angry populace.

China can't survive without the US economy. It's that simple.

We are doing it right this minute.

We also subsidize our industry. We are no different.

They pulled the emergency brake on the entire planet this time 5 years ago to avoid having to deal with Trump's trade deals they had just entered into a few months prior.

Gonna be an interesting 2025.

I find this hard to believe. That’s what, 20% of the population? Covid wasn’t that lethal and Chinese are generally healthy and not overweight with co morbidities like Americans

yep. force them into the light now; they're trying to keep their powder dry and trump just ripped the top off that barrel in the middle of a rain storm.

can't believe the cucks on here still mad at trump for these tariffs.

had to happen or we wouldn't have a nation in 10 years.
