I've always rooted for Josh. I think he's a team player and gives it his all. He doesn't have the measurables of a Bear Jones but he's a gamer and putting together another quality season.
5 homers
5 doubles
.313 BA
1.091 OPS
23 RBI
.612 Slg%
.479 OB%
Good job, Josh.

It feels like every time that dude comes to the plate (and we need it) something good happens.

I don't know if that really happens but it really does feel that way.

It's almost like when he gets taken out of the line up and gets put back in it focuses him.

People like to say he's clutch but I think it's the wrong word. He's just really good at pinch hitting which is a very difficult thing to do. He's definitely a luxury

Is there a player on the team that doesn’t give it their all?
Posted on 4/5/25 at 11:44 am to Lester Earl
Yea probably a few on every team.

I feel like every time he comes to the plate he’s getting hit by a pitch.

I have said it since Day 1 of this year give me Pearson over Brown every day of the week.

His numbers aren’t astoundingly great….
But, when you need a hit in a tough spot, he’s near the top of who you want up there.

Pearson reminds me of Mason Katz. He has no natural place to play in the field, but he can hit a baseball. He is a clutch hitter and a tough out. If LSU ever needs two out hit, to win or stay in the game, Pearson would be on the short list of players you would want at the plate.

Mason Katz was a 1st team all SEC player , 2nd team All American(2013), 2nd team all SEC (2012, 2011).

I like the fact that he showed his senior leadership last night. "OK, guys, here's how you hit dingers into the wind."

Dude, you sure like to pick a lot. Mason is a great kid, our families have been good friends forever. His grandfather, Hippo, was a very close friend of mine. Hippo loved to talk about Mason.
I was not saying Pearson has achieved as much as Mason, just observing that they are similar in that neither have a natural position on the field and that both are clutch hitters. In the end I think Mason was playing first base, having played outfield and second base, just like Pearson.
Katz was a gritty player too, as is Pearson.
Gritty player. A tough out. A clutch hitter. A player without a natural position in the field. Do these qualities not apply to both players?
