Flying QSuites back from honeymoon and have an 8 hour layover beginning roughly at 11 PM. Anyone here booked the airport hotel there? Should we just hangout in the Business Lounge explore the airport?

It's tough since it's overnight but I will say the Qatar airport is nice AF. I could definitely kill 8 hours between the business lounge and the general airport
I'd probably just do that

A bit off topic, but in this situation has anyone tried to leave and come back in or is just too much of a pain with immigration and customs screening?

8 hours is more than enough time to leave and come back. I would say he should do that but not worth it if your layover isn't until 11 pm

In 2021 Hamad Int had the sleep pod clusters you can rent by the hour. Showers as well. Its a nice airport.
Get a couple of pops down the hatch and nap it out.

That first class lounge is the nicest I have ever been in. Food & drink selection is top. It also doubles as a museum.

Yes. Book the Oryx hotel in advance. It fills up.
Lounge is really nice but 8 hours in it is miserable.

The spa and pool on the 3rd floor by the hotel is a relaxing time kill, especially if you are a swimmer. I usually spend a few hours there, then an hour shopping or browsing the high end shops for fun and the rest in the lounge.
8 hrs is nothing in that airport.

Is all this open overnight though?

Only reason to do that at that hour is to take his new bride to one of the russian hotel brothels.

That's what we did with a long overnight layover in Dubai. The hotel rents rooms in 8 hr increments iirc. A nap in a room with a real bathroom & shower was great. The Emirates lounge was kind of disappointing late at night.

I would go grab a nap. That’s a long layover.
Doha QR lounges are busy most of the night. They slack between 3-5(ish) AM. I tell you that, because I see people wait to get seated after 6 am.
