Why are Asian restaurants so stingy with their rice these days?

The Thai restaurant gave me a gigantic container of curry and a tiny little container of rice. And I paid $2 for extra rice. My local Chinese joint pulls the same shite. Commie assholes.

I haven’t noticed this at all in Baton Rouge. I still get giant containers of rice packed so tightly that it explodes into double the volume as you scoop it out.

When you get a lot of rice, two dishes can happen:
Stir fried rice (a couple of eggs, some left over meat, a sliced onion, a green onion also sliced, some soy sauce and some sesame oil)
Peruvian style soltado. Rice, reheated french fries, chicken or beef, sliced purple onion, a couple of tomatoes, soy sauce, etc.
