These people are all in their feels about a trade war...well its here, lets win it.

Lets bring back manufacturing to this country. We obviously can make the tech, cars and high end stuff that we are already produce...but we can also make socks, tennis rackets, power tools etc.

As of now there are ZERO circular saws made in the US. I know because I im a contractor and search for every tool I buy to buy a made in US one. There are literally a handful of common power tools made in US. We absolutely can make stuff like that.

What can Congress do:
1) Eliminate taxes for US manufacturing
2) Lower regulations and red tape for new manufacturing
3) Incentivize small time manufacturing(1-5 people buying some machinery and making common use products)

Many of the thousands young men out there sending out hundreds of resumes, job applications should be starting new businesses making things.

The last stone cold fact...the federal government needs to shink tremendously. It should not be a jobs program

Great but it isn't going to happen over night and in the meantime the tariffs aren't helpful. It's putting the cart before the horse. Bring back the manufacturing first then put the tariffs if you must.

Exactly how you suggest we enforce this?

It's almost as if you think companies will come back willingly under pre tariff conditions

A well run US company could make a good profit making socks or tennis rackets in the US.

Socks is literally a product EVERYONE must buy. Go to any store and see if you can find a made in USA sock. Not a waste of time if you are making money

I wish I could find them in stores. There is actually a company in Alabama that makes socks but its an extra padded kind that I dont like...and you have to order them I think.

How or better yet why would manufacturing return on its own when American politicians sold that horse & cart you speak of from underneath the citizens feet in trade deals decades ago. Those deals have hollowed out cities nationwide and created a low income service sector as well as a huge entitlement program. Any buffoon can see the resulting effects of these social entitlements in education, living standards and even rise in prison rates. Yes you could argue offshoring manufacturing helped along other countries but it didn’t help Americans workers

I mentioned tennis rackets because its something ive researched the process of making. I absolutely think people would pay an extra $100-200 for a well made racket that was produced in the US

By creating an environment which makes making these products overseas more expensive and by lowering the expenses of those that would make those products here

Sounds a bit like what Trump is attempting to do while screaming children are saying he’s ruining the country

Yes, we should. The alternative is to have millions on welfare…

Translation: I want the problem fixed but I’m not willing to feel any discomfort whatsoever from the solution…. So I guess I don’t really want to fix the problem. frick it. Let’s leave it broken and I’ll just complain about it online.

I create/provide much more valuable items/services and use my higher income to buy basic crap like socks from places with unskilled laborers.
