If they work, great. They can help the imbalance.
If they make the situation worse, the next POTUS in 4 years will rescind them and put it back the way it was.
If you have a deep cash reserve, you shouldn’t have any problem.

This is a big step that will help pay off the deficit. The trade deficit has been bankrupting us. The tariffs goal is to bring everyone to 0% or at least get close to free trade

Having a deep cash reserve the last 4 years has been idiotic. Losing 8-10-% per year.
Some tariffs are needed and warranted but this roll out had no nuance and no strategy.

Since this doesn't apply to the majority of Americans I'd say that you might want to rethink things "being fine" if things go South.
A lot can happen in 4 years. There is a lot more downside risk to this than the pure economics of it.

Looking at how over leveraged people are with consumer debt might give you some insight as to whether or not most people have deep cash reserves
